🔌 Why check what plugins a site is using?

Knowing the plugin stack behind a successful WordPress site helps you:

  • 💼 Learn how top websites are built

  • 🎯 Audit competitors’ toolkits

  • 🧩 Discover new plugins you’ve never heard of

  • ⚙️ Solve design or functionality puzzles (“How did they do that?”)

  • 🚫 Spot potentially risky or outdated plugins in use

Whether you’re a developer, designer, agency, or small business owner — knowing what’s under the hood can save you time and money.

🔍 What can this WordPress Plugin Detector find?

We scan the site’s source code for plugin footprints — either by checking folder paths (/wp-content/plugins/) or sniffing for known keywords in the HTML, JavaScript, or CSS. If a plugin is active and not fully hidden, we’ll probably catch it.

Some of the most commonly detected plugins include:

  • Elementor

  • Rank Math SEO

  • WooCommerce

  • WPForms

  • Contact Form 7

  • Wordfence

  • Yoast SEO

  • Site Kit by Google

  • LiteSpeed Cache

  • Smush Image Optimiser

  • …and over 100 more.

We even highlight affiliate links where available, in case you want to explore or buy those plugins yourself.

📚 FAQs – What Plugins Is That Site Using?

🧩 What kind of plugins can be detected?

We detect all publicly exposed WordPress plugins — including free, premium, and add-on extensions. If they follow the standard folder structure, we’ll spot them.

🔐 Can you detect hidden or backend-only plugins?

Not always. If a plugin only runs in the admin area or has been renamed, it may be undetectable. However, if it outputs frontend code (JS, CSS, HTML, forms, buttons, etc), we’ll usually find it.

🧠 What does “probably” mean?

If we can’t confirm a plugin via folder structure but see keyword clues (e.g. elementor in HTML), we’ll show “probably” next to its name. It’s a strong guess, not a guarantee.

🆓 Is this WordPress plugin checker free?

Yes. Completely. We fund this tool using affiliate links, so if you end up buying a plugin via our link — thank you! It helps keep the lights on.

💻 Can I detect plugins from sites I don’t own?

Yes — this tool is made for scanning any public WordPress site. No login required. If you want to keep your own plugin stack private, consider hiding it using a plugin like WP Hide or custom server rules.
